pneuma
Pneuma is the invisible, hidden substance that contemporary science has yet to disprove through evidence or experimentation. It is the human spirit bound to the soul—the breath of life. In ancient Greek thought, the term more specifically refers to the conscious life force present within every living being.
Inspired by the stories of childhood, where good and evil coexist as parts of the same essential balance—neither able to exist without the awareness of the other—this project also introduces a third presence, one that embodies spirituality. We are all three at once, and when we look into the mirror, how often do we struggle to recognize which one is reflected back at us, if only to preserve the illusion of our own existence.
By placing evil on the left and good on the right, this dreamlike series subtly suggests the arm of a third figure: our spiritual self, revealed through the projection of our imagination.
To what extent can the fear of an invisible enemy affect the human psyche?
What consequences will emerge from a prolonged, yet necessary, state of isolation?
